There are many things to enjoy in The Villages and if you have not already noticed, many of our activities will invariable start or end with a meal.\u00a0\u00a0 I do believe there are many reasons that contribute to this;\u00a0 the abundance of good restaurants, the prices are very\u00a0reasonable compared to other\u00a0parts of the country, the weather is conducive to\u00a0eating out, and probable one of the biggest reasons is we don’t want to cook anymore.\u00a0\u00a0So many times \u00a0I have mentioned in my blog the privileges of retirement.\u00a0 I think this is another one to add to our list.\u00a0 \u00a0Can you imagine, when\u00a0our families were young,\u00a0 saying I dropped them off at school and met friends for breakfast, or after the soccer game we all went out to eat, before the\u00a0cub scout meeting we have to meet for lunch, or after the PTA meeting we went for dinner.\u00a0 \u00a0There was cleaning and wash to be done, carpooling, and homework to be supervised, children to be scrubbed and put to bed.\u00a0 \u00a0 Going out to dinner was an Anniversary event.\u00a0 Now, it is part of our weekly routine, and some weeks it becomes almost a daily thing.\u00a0 Eating out\u00a0\u00a0means enjoying the company you are with, without having to clean up afterwards, and enjoy we do.\u00a0 \u00a0That brings me to my\u00a0Lunch with friends, which\u00a0is a group of women that I try to get together a few times a year. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I have met these women \u00a0over the years through water aerobics, book club,\u00a0neighbors,\u00a0my New Jersey neighbors, \u00a0Sean’s golfing buddies’s wives, and those I met when I was a Sales Associate with the Properties of the Villages, either buyers or sellers or renters.\u00a0 Yesterday, as I looked down the table I realized many states were represented;\u00a0\u00a0Conneticut, New Jersey, New York, New Hampshire,\u00a0Pennsylvania, Florida and Canada.\u00a0\u00a0We were an\u00a0international group of friends.\u00a0 (I\u00a0might have missed a state or two, and I apologize.)\u00a0 The conversation flowed very easily amongst everyone, and it is interesting that no matter where we came from, we share many of the same thoughts and interests.\u00a0\u00a0 I find it amazing how easy it is to make friends when coming to The Villages, and\u00a0especially when getting together to have lunch.\u00a0\u00a0An idea for the\u00a0next lunch might\u00a0be friends bringing friends.\u00a0 In the meantime though I want to\u00a0say to\u00a0those who were able to\u00a0attend and also those who had prior engagements,\u00a0 I consider you my Village treasures, thank so much for\u00a0your friendship.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
