{"id":507,"date":"2012-05-08T09:15:17","date_gmt":"2012-05-08T16:15:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ae0.92e.myftpupload.com\/?p=507"},"modified":"2013-02-25T13:43:23","modified_gmt":"2013-02-25T18:43:23","slug":"village-dogs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bestvillageblog.com\/?p=507","title":{"rendered":"Something for everyone, even the dogs&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As a person who grew up with dogs and does not have one for the first time in my life, \u00a0I especially \u00a0love to observe the dogs in The Villages.\u00a0 I have come to the conclusion that they are the luckiest dogs in the world&#8230;they are walked, trotted and run, \u00a0up and down the recreation trails, they have more grooming appointments than I have,\u00a0they go for golf cart rides and I&#8217;m told they let you know if the rides not long enough.\u00a0\u00a0I&#8217;ve seen them in raincoats and boots, with ribbons in their hair, and I have even seen them in strollers.\u00a0\u00a0I&#8217;ve seen them at Hagen Daz.\u00a0\u00a0I&#8217;ve seen\u00a0 more\u00a0breeds of dogs than\u00a0you can imagine.\u00a0 I get a kick out of watching them take their daily walk or run.\u00a0 Some are lazy and stroll along, others are in a real hurry and seem to want to trot&#8230;.when the\u00a0owner is running with a small dog\u00a0the dog&#8217;s \u00a0little legs are going a mile a minute, and when a big dog\u00a0is running, \u00a0\u00a0their\u00a0owner&#8217;s legs are going a mile a minute.\u00a0 Years ago we just let our dogs out the back door and they barked to come in.\u00a0 Unfortunately that is not the case anymore.\u00a0 In The Villages dogs have to be on a leash, however like everything else in the friendliest hometown, provisions have been made for them to run loose, and\u00a0 even socialize with other dogs and their owners.\u00a0 There are three dog parks for their pleasure&#8230;Paradise Dog Park next to the bridge over Rt.#441,\u00a0 Mulberry Dog Park off Belle Meade Drive\u00a0at the Springdale Recreation Trail and the Brinson-Perry Dog Park on the corner of \u00a0Bonita Drive and\u00a0 Buena Vista Blvd., \u00a0you\u00a0enter off Bonita Drive.\u00a0\u00a0 I happened to be in the area and I went in and took a look at it&#8230;it is sectioned according to small dog..big dog, as are the other parks as well.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The dogs were being very social, running around and playing\u00a0and I have to say the owners were too, not running around or playing but were socializing.\u00a0\u00a0Seeing the owner&#8217;s in their lawn chairs chatting was reminescent\u00a0 of the days when my sons needed supervision at the lake and we\u00a0Mothers\u00a0 sat around in beach chairs socializing.\u00a0\u00a0 It was a great life then, and is a great life now,\u00a0 for residents and dogs alike.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As a person who grew up with dogs and does not have one for the first time in my life, \u00a0I especially \u00a0love to observe the dogs in The Villages.\u00a0 I have come to the conclusion that they are the luckiest dogs in the world&#8230;they are walked, trotted and run, \u00a0up and down the recreation [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[6],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-507","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-the-villages-informational-websites"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/bestvillageblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/507","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/bestvillageblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/bestvillageblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/bestvillageblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/bestvillageblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=507"}],"version-history":[{"count":6,"href":"https:\/\/bestvillageblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/507\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1271,"href":"https:\/\/bestvillageblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/507\/revisions\/1271"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/bestvillageblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=507"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/bestvillageblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=507"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/bestvillageblog.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=507"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
