The other day I stumbled across an article in the paper about\u00a0 Camp Villages sponsoring fishing at Golfview Lake park for the Village grandchildren.\u00a0 They had a great shot of\u00a0 a gazebo at the end of a dock\u00a0 that extended out into the lake.\u00a0 Across the lake you could see golfers and I’m sure that is how the name came about.\u00a0 Curiosity always gets the best of me and with a name like Golfview Lake,\u00a0 it had to be something that would be fun to see.\u00a0 The\u00a0lake seemed quite big beyond the gazebo, so I thought it might be in the area of Orange Blossom Gardens or Silver Lake.\u00a0\u00a0 Sure enough I found it on a\u00a0map and went over to take a look.\u00a0 What a pretty, pretty spot.\u00a0 I’m \u00a0sure many golfers are familiar with the park, \u00a0as they would be looking directly at it\u00a0as they come down the fairway from the Orange Blossom Hills Country Club.\u00a0\u00a0 Also, I’m sure many of you \u00a0that have visited the restaurant, \u00a0have marveled at the view from the\u00a0Country\u00a0Club; \u00a0the fairway, the lake and the church steeples in the distance.\u00a0 In the early\u00a0evening, with the lights it\u00a0is spectacular.\u00a0 I found that \u00a0Golfview Lake park gives you a reverse look up the fairway and it is equally as \u00a0spectacular.\u00a0 The park has beautiful Oak trees and picnic benches, and is located by the entrance to the Mark Twain Library,\u00a0located next to the Paradise Recreation Center.\u00a0 You can browse through the library, get a book and sit under a tree, enjoy your book, your view and your retirement.\u00a0 And if it is Thursday and you like crab legs, Orange Blossom\u00a0Hills Country Club offers all you can eat…they too are spectacular.\u00a0 \u00a0 To get to\u00a0the park\u00a0you can take Avenido Central across Rt.#441 and through the gate, Wales Plaza,\u00a0take\u00a02nd left on Owen Dr. and follow it down to the left , which\u00a0will\u00a0bring you \u00a0behind the Paradise Recreation Center.\u00a0\u00a0 If you come in the Boone gate, which is the extension of Morse Blvd. across Rt.#441, make a quick right on Paradise Dr, go to lst stop sign, Wales Plaza, go left and then left on Owen Dr.\u00a0\u00a0 If you go over the golf cart bridge over Rt.#441, go left pass the the dog park and continue onto Paradise Dr., at stop sign, Wales Plaza go right and then left on Owen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
