{"id":895,"date":"2012-12-04T10:12:21","date_gmt":"2012-12-04T15:12:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ae0.92e.myftpupload.com\/?p=895"},"modified":"2012-12-04T10:12:21","modified_gmt":"2012-12-04T15:12:21","slug":"loss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bestvillageblog.com\/?p=895","title":{"rendered":"Loss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>is the most difficult part of living and it \u00a0comes in many forms; loss of a loved one, a job, loss of a home, a pet, loss of good health.\u00a0\u00a0 Normally I have no problem writing my blog, I see things or hear things and I am off and running, or should I say writing. \u00a0 This week I have had a difficult time concentrating, not only with my blog but I am trying to finish decorating, finish shopping, finish wrapping and finish mailing, and I am accomplishing nothing.\u00a0 I am really annoyed with myself but am doing nothing about it.\u00a0\u00a0 Along with writing I also talk to myself and\u00a0questioned what my problem was.\u00a0 I traced my behavior back to a phone call I received last week from my best friend in New Jersey.\u00a0 She was crying hysterically\u00a0that her son had passed away suddenly from a heart attack.\u00a0\u00a0We cried together for as long as she could stay on the phone and it seems that the sadness I feel is so insignificant \u00a0as compared to the pain and heartache she is going through.\u00a0\u00a0Loss is such a personal thing and as much as we think we understand we really don&#8217;t.\u00a0 If we try to make reason of it we can&#8217;t, and I believe it leaves us\u00a0feeling paralyzed and helpless and\u00a0 questioning, in this case,\u00a0our\u00a0own family&#8217;s morality.\u00a0\u00a0I think my lack of enthusiasm to complete anything is\u00a0an effect of that phone call.\u00a0\u00a0I can not get her or her son off my mind. \u00a0My friend&#8217;s\u00a0life\u00a0is no longer the same, as that is what loss does,\u00a0and if there could ever be anything good to say about it,\u00a0we would have to say it\u00a0 brings us closer, it makes us\u00a0pause and reflect on what we had and what we\u00a0have.\u00a0\u00a0Our memories keep us going and our thoughts of what that person did, or said or would want us to do, are always there.\u00a0 Loss teaches us to appreciate,\u00a0 appreciate what we had but also to appreciate what we have.\u00a0 I think it brings us together like no other event.\u00a0 I\u00a0know now I could not write\u00a0as I could not push away the feelings I was having.\u00a0\u00a0Those same \u00a0feelings have made me open my eyes to those around me and to appreciate every thing I have&#8230;to not get caught up in all the\u00a0hustle and bustle, \u00a0but be aware of what\u00a0this season gives all of us, \u00a0and that is the opportunity to reach out to others and be thankful for our friends and family, our health, our homes, our jobs even if our job is retirement,\u00a0and to cherish our\u00a0 memories and especially build new ones, as they are our best medication for healing.
